Loughmiller Machine, Tool & Design is currently seeking a skilled detail-oriented Finish Painter to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting a variety of surfaces using industrial-grade equipment and materials. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial coatings, spray application techniques, and a strong understanding of safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, grinding, masking, and cleaning.
  • Apply primers, sealers, and industrial coatings using spray guns, rollers, or brushes.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for quality and uniformity; perform touch-ups or rework as necessary.
  • Maintain painting equipment and spray booths in clean, working condition.
  • Follow blueprints, drawings, or job specifications to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Mix paints and coatings to specified colors and consistencies.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used and jobs completed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial or automotive painting preferred.
  • Familiarity with various types of paints, coatings, and application techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and safety instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, wearing PPE).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and operation of manual lathes and milling machines.
  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, and engineering documents
  • Perform precise measurements to ensure product accuracy. (Micrometer, caliper, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety procedures
  • Participate in structured training to develop machining skills and gain industry insight

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of mechanical concepts and machining principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to a machining and/or manufacturing background
  • Familiarity with machine shop tooling and related equipment

CNC Operator

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision components that meet strict quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC mills and lathes, a strong understanding of machining principles, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes and mills) according to production specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documents.
  • Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments for optimized performance.
  • Perform precise measurements to ensure product accuracy. (Micrometer, caliper, etc…)
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on CNC equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production team to improve processes and part quality.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience operating CNC machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documents.
  • Understanding of CNC programming and machining principles
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using CAD/CAM software.
  • Familiarity with a variety of CNC machine types
  • Knowledge of G-code and M-code programming
